God didn’t intend
Skies to always be blue,
How can I pretend
To invent the wheel anew.
God didn’t promise
The days be unencumbered,
Why should I dare hiss
And all my days are numbered.
God didn’t contend
Life forever to stay still,
How can I ascend
While my life in gear downhill.
God didn’t promise
The aging wouldn’t attack,
Why should I redress
The hairline that’s falling back.
God didn’t preset
Humans to go their way,
How can I forget,
For guidance, to always pray?
