Knowing of someone through relationships, work places, casual encounters, hearsay or history books, and in our present glorious era, through electronic and visual sightings, in itself neither earmarks a person with personal touch or personal knowledge, nor automatically bestow closeness and intimacy.
Cecil fittingly said: “ The first step to knowledge is to know we are ignorant”. It requires knowledge to sense ignorance, and at the absence of knowledge, obstinate ignorance has no wings to fly toward knowledge. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally… let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.” (Jam.1:5-6)
If our belief is based on ignorance and ambiguity, and we do not know the person, whom we claim to believe in, what good is a belief devoid of faith, as belief in the present is faith in the future, and faith without knowledge is utopia. “Faith comes by hearing (knowledge), and hearing by the word of God”.
Governments and financial institutions train their employees to know the real currency so that to detect the counterfeit, and not vice versa. If someone has no knowledge and conviction of the real story, subject matter or topic, how can he discern the tangible truth?
Knowledge is the earnest search, on one hand, to gain direct perception, understanding and acquaintance with, and on the other hand, to recognize the power of discerning thirst for truth.
“It is written: eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him. But God has revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so, the things of God know no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God”. ( 1Cor. 2:10-12)
Only then, you will comprehend that it is your call, your choice, your move and your eternal life that matters, as the pursuit of intimate and relevant knowledge becomes an ongoing journey to the only destination: Friendship and Fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ.owing of Him means religion,

While knowing Him is an intimate Relationship,
Knowing of Him means acquainting,
While knowing Him is a committed Friendship,
Knowing of Him means e pluribus unum, (=one out of many)
While knowing Him thrones Him as the One and Only Lord,
Knowing of Him means a lost identity,
While knowing Him earns you to be heir with Him.
Knowing of Him means a lost sheep,
While knowing Him makes of you the child of the Living God.
