“My little children, these things write I unto you, that you sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for (the sins of) the whole world.” 1John 2:1-2. Prayer is a letter of love and gratitude to God, who unconditionally loved us and chose us before we loved him or chose him; prayer is a hymn written and recited in his honor, as he showed us his mercy and compassion; and prayer is a melody we, the little children, intone crooning his majesty, sovereignty and lordship, for calling us his heirs and children. Praying is recommendable, because the creature can freely talk to the Creator any time of the day and the night. Praying is special as we set aside time to meet with our Father, chat with our Lord Jesus and implore of our one and only counselor and comforter the Holy Spirit in an intimate and fervent conversation. Praying is festive as an opportunity to sing their praises, croon their providence and express our gratitude. Praying is personal where we can unburden our spirits, bare our souls purify our bodies and cry out our hearts, while lifting our need and needs, our care and cares as well as our heart desires and wishes.
When the Bible says to “Pray without Ceasing”, it means all of the above, including but not limited to praying when we get up and go to sleep, before each meal and snacks, before we start our work, endeavors and tasks, when we drive, ride, fly and sail, in sorrow and joy occasions, in health crisis and wellness, stopping for multiple 10 seconds breaks to talk to God in prayer, in the midst of the ups and downs of our life, etc. thus developing an earnest more intimate relationship with the Lord.
Through warm, sincere, open and devoted relationship with the Lord in prayer, and with a humble mind and contrite heart through repentance and obedience, we can experience the divine intimacy within the will of God and his saving grace, which will bring forth the fruits of comfort, solace, joy, and strength found only in prayer, as we are assured that God will then hear our prayers, supplications and petitions, and infuse in us his wisdom and understanding. The stronger more fervent conforming our prayer is, the greater the fulfillment of the promise of God’s never-ending blessings will be.
