The TIT for TAT Diatribe
GLADGIVING or TITHING?
Is it AMITY or ENMITY?

Humanity was and still is plagued with rampant widespread diseases known as avarice, greed and covetousness, which are the weapons of the poor in soul, the rigid in spirit, the rich in material, and the ungrateful and shriveled hand. Rust corrupts iron, so these corrupt the soul. Avarice is an IOY payable with interest and penalties in this life and the hereafter. Avarice might be a worldly stasher’s richness but definitely a heavenly bankruptcy.

Charity and generosity are the bridges across the gulf of Heavens and Earth, where heavens’ showers are the precious and divine gifts of the Creator. Charity and generosity are wise, as giving is the spur of noble, humble and loving minds and hearts. A charitable heart is the by-product of pure, brave, kind and grateful mind.

Only a generous mind and cheerful heart can discern the enormity of the debt. We all have fallen short of God’s Grace, we all are sinners and deserve death and perdition, but we are all offered salvation for free for us to grab and keep.  The debt is enormous and there is nothing good in us that can be offered to repay the Lord. Can’t we show some gratitude and give generously of what He has bestowed on and entrusted us with?

Our humanity is poor was it not for the godly givers with cheerful hearts and pure minds who sowed small and large sparks that kindle into the greatest flames of love and compassion, and alleviated and still alleviate some of this world’s miseries and calamities.

How can anyone boast of and reflect the goodness of God if we choose not to give of his Providence and Bounty, and share of our fortune, no matter how big or small, abundant or meager, with our fellowman, church and the work of the Lord? Don’t let anyone trick you in believing that the Bible says that you have to Tithe, but always give freely by grace because in Jesus, who fulfill the law and covered you with His shed Blood and Saving Grace, you are the heir: “We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith grows exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other abounds.” (2The 1:3)

Brothers and sisters in the Lord, I urge you in the Name and Love of our Savior to give and give generously like He gave, of yourself, of your sustenance, of your substance, of your time and of your attention; be that godly philanthropist and faithful servant by giving not 1%, not 10% and not any percent, but whatever your godly heart tells you, without hesitation, discrimination, shaking and mumbling, because loving and giving will always be your Christian trade mark and your life’s wealth that will be written on tablets leaving footprints in the sands of time and eternity. Make that “Deposit of Faith” by continuously planting seeds that will grow to be very healthy and fruitful trees that generate more good seeds.  “Give, and it will be given to you … for with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” Luk. 6:38

Half of this world’s populations are atheists who give, contribute and donate for pure humanitarian reasons, is it not worthy of us, the followers of the Greatest Giver to excel and surpass any giving because we personify the love promulgated by the message of the Cross and the Commandment: “love your God and love your neighbor and enemy” by being that nameless timeless faceless unremembered giving hand with a cheerful heart that reflects the shades and shadows of our gratitude and obedience with faithfulness to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Isaiah comforts us that God: “will teach us of His Ways” Isa. 2:3, so let us all implore God to: “send His Light and His Truth” Psa. 43:3 as I conclude this subject with the following thoughts confirming that: “Our labor is not in vain” 1 Cor. 15:58, and that we should not: “Cease to give thanks” Eph. 1:16, and finally that: “A cheerful heart does like a medicine” Prov. 17:22For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which you have showed toward his name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister” Heb 6:10, and “ let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven”, Matt. 5:16 because “…without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” Heb. 11:6

Because we are called to “whatever we do in word or deed, to do all in the Name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God through Him.”(Col. 3:17), "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God” (Heb 9:14) “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unaware” Heb. 13:2

Let us give and go in Peace to
“Serve the Lord with Gladness”.
(Psa. 100:2)

May “the Lord bless us and keep us,
May “the Lord make His Face to shine upon us & be gracious to us,
May “the Lord lift up the light of His Countenance upon us and give us peace,” in the
precious Name of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
(Num. 6:24-26)

May God, in His Infinite Mercy and in the Path of Righteousness for His Name sake,
richly bless every cheerful giver, now and forever.

Amen
