God, The Almighty Father, have chosen for His only Son to be supernaturally and divinely conceived and born of a “Virgin”, exceptionally unique and sinless, so salvation can be achieved by Jesus, and Jesus alone, who knew no sin, to atone for humanity’s sin and sins, past, present and futuristic. Did not we read: “Job said: “Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.” (14:4)? This is the base for all true Christian belief and creed, thus “mission was accomplished” crowned by the passion of Christ summed up by Jesus’ last words: “It’s finished”: in other words: “It is fully Done” and “price was fully paid” as per all the prophecies. He is risen from the dead ALIVE to give us His life and become our one and only Mediator.
Were Joseph and Mary supposedly having children a diminution or shaking of the power of the truth in the belief of the “Immaculate Conception” and “Virgin Birth”? No true believer entertains that notion. Just because Jesus is the God-Man, does not make of Mary the “Mother of God”, otherwise how could the Trinity of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit be eternal, no beginning and no end? For Mary to be the “Mother of God”, She must have existed before God and She needed no salvation. Was not Mary born with the Original Sin, otherwise how can we explain Her statement: and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior“(Luc 1:43). Motherhood is a beginning that requires an end. Is not Mary the Mother of the incarnate man, Jesus? “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6). That same Man has died, but the God-Man triumphed over death by His death, and has risen. Some argue that the title “Mother of God” stems from the fact that Jesus, after being incarnated, never ceased to exist in His supernatural state, consciousness, divinity and sovereignty, and that Elizabeth confirmed that title when she declared by the Holy Spirit. “And whence is this to me that the Mother of my Lord should come to me?” Are we playing a game of hide and seek? Yes,
Elizabeth
was right in calling Mary, the Mother of Jesus, who is definitely the Lord of Elizabeth as well as the Lord of Mary. The word Lord is rather exclusively used for Jesus than the Father or the Holy Spirit. Was or is Mary the mediator between the Father and His creatures, or between Jesus and His followers? Is there any scriptural backing for this doctrine, any hint of hierarchy, or any succession of or stipulations for mediums, intercessors or interveners?
Just because Mary said that: “all generation will call me “Blessed”, does neither infer nor require Mary’s worship promulgated implicitly and explicitly by the different churches. God Himself announced the birth of Isaac; He also took Elijah and Enoch alive to Heaven. The angel also announced the coming of John the Baptist, who prepared the way, and paid with his life in the service of God the Father and the Son. Do we worship John? Do we pray to Isaac, Elijah, Enoch or John? Do we implore the intercession of Isaac, Elijah, Enoch or John? With all the greatness of these men of God including John, this is what Jesus said of John: “For I say unto you: “Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist, but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” Luke 7:28 & Matt 11:11
Then we read this statement of Jesus: “Who is My Mother and who my brothers are?” (Matt 12:47-48). Does that apply equally to the Virgin Mary and the saints, who were born of women in sin? Does not the Bible say all true believers are gods, children of God and heirs with Jesus, as in the prayer Jesus taught us the: “Our Father?
I am not advocating in any form, shape or fashion, disrespect to Mary or the Saints, as I truly and faithfully honor Her with all my heart, and I always try to imitate Her obedience, Her devotion to and Her worship of our Lord: “Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute… honor to whom honor”, (Rom 13:7), but I am appalled by the schism and heresies promulgated by our different Churches, including the practices of believers in worshipping instead of honoring Mary and the Saints. Can Christians heed the words of God: “if you love Me, keep My commandment” and “God is no respecter of persons” (Acts 10:34+Rom 2:11) and “What is man that You are mindful of? Heb 2:6, as no matter how high and great a person is, God is higher and greater. My hope that Christians believe wholeheartedly in the Almighty and His unchangeable statutes, and stop dwelling on unfounded, vain and divisionary precepts and teachings, that can neither advance their Christian life nor earn them any salvation?
